streapadair > Sgurr nan Spainteach from Sgurr na Ciste Duibh.

10.30am, 04/05/02

~ This shows the notorious false ridge which if followed in poor visibility will lead the unwary steeply down into Gleann Lichd, where most people don't really want to go. Instead, a few yards from the foot of that scrambly step (the only such one on the Sisters ridge), drop down to the left, into a curious little hollow, on the far side of which the true ridge continues.
streapadair > Loch Alsh and Beinn na Caillich.

6pm, 07/03/82

~ I normally leave things like Eilan Donan Castle to the professionals, but this seemed to merit an exception.
streapadair > The Five Sisters ridge from the east.

2pm, 04/09/93

~ From somewhere on Sreath an Fhraoch-choire, which leads on to Sgurr a' Bhealaich Dheirg from the north.

I was heading for a camp on Sgurr na Ciste Duibh, which given the weather should have been a photographic feast, but instead was a disaster of underexposure - this was the last shot on one film, and the next two are the only just-passable shots on the second. Bad workman, tools, etc, so it may have been my own fault (but I've always suspected that the processing was bungled).

10pm, 04/09/93

~ A 20 minute exposure on a mountain top, with a flimsy tripod and a lately-risen gibbous moon. Getting my excuses in early.

I think most of the lights on the lochside are car headlights, though that must be Ratagan gleaming brightly on the left. The clusters on the horizon - now, it seems unlikely, and I'm not entirely sure I believe it myself, but they do appear to line up with Tarbert (Harris) and Stornoway, 75-80 miles distant.

6.30am, 05/09/93

~ Mullach Fraoch-choire and a shrouded Glen Affric.

It took a few goes to get my position just right. In one, I stood a little too high, and the sun appeared to be shining from somewhere it doesn't normally shine.
